Position Summary:

The QA Engineer will be responsible for defining, creating, and executing Quality functions across multiple projects and functional areas.  This person will be responsible for ensuring QA procedures are followed across the enterprise, test planning, test execution, and defect management.  They will apply quality assurance tools and techniques to successfully validate and verify large scale applications including Web Application, Database and Web Service components.



  • Works with project team members to ensure requirements, use cases, and user stories are clear, concise, traceable and testable.
  • Verify the accuracy of the API documentation
  • Develop functional test cases through product investigation, direct interaction with development, and business or customer requirements.
  • Proxy Product owner occasionally to write user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Design and implementation of automated suites for application testing
  • Create test environments which simulate deployment conditions
  • Execute manual and automated tests, analyze problems, provide detailed failure information, and work with development to facilitate defect resolution
  • Provides estimates for planning, development and execution of test cases.
  • Executes test cases and test scripts for newly developed functionality.
  • Maintains regression test cases and test scripts and execute same.
  • Defines test data requirements conditioning test data as necessary.
  • Identifies, reports, tracks and escalates anomalies discovered during testing and ensures closure on the issues.  Helps teams use results to drive continuous improvement upstream.
  • Recommends, develops, and implement improvements to existing processes and standards in reference to development and quality management methodologies.
  • Works collaboratively with organization and its partners to ensure established procedures, standards and processes are utilized consistently throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Develops and sustains positive relationships with peers and other project team members.



  • 5+years Java/Windows API/Web based application testing
  • 4+ years hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL queries including complex joins
  • 4+ years hands-on Experience with SOAP UI, Rest clients and Experience testing software at API level.
  • Ability to map business requirements to the API implementation. 
  • Experience parsing XML and JSON
  • Experience using scripting/programming languages/frameworks for writing test automation (e.g. python, Jasmine, CasperJS).
  • Experience with Apache JMeter and Selenium webservice automation.
  • Experience with version control such as Git and Github.
  • In depth knowledge of SOA frameworks, processes, strategies, and approaches
  • Ability to validate server log errors which are running on UNIX boxes by using Putty or similar tool
  • UI Testing experience with debugging skills.
  • Experience with testing Integrated Eligibility Systems
  • In-depth knowledge of testing concepts, phases and types of testing
  • Ability to coordinate, negotiate, schedule and communicate with all levels of staff
  • Strong experience managing, tracking, reporting and resolving defects identified during the testing process
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies
