The supplier relationship function controls our selection and agreements with our travel suppliers; airlines and car rental companies are prime examples of our travel suppliers.  This position and the leader that fills it will develop and drive the development & implementation of supplier relations strategies.  He/she also maintains the relationships with our suppliers--managing negotiations and product performance.  The successful candidate will be skilled at strategic thinking, selling, negotiations, and relationship management.  It is an independent contributor roll for now but as we grow, supplier relations will grow as well.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Work with SVP and President to develop a supplier relations plan and priorities.
  • Execute plan with emphasis on establishing and maintaining key supplier relationships and contracts that will drive improved supplier margins.
  • Create the measurement metrics and manage a performance dashboard for supplier relations to measure and manage financial and operational performance.
  • Be the voice of our travel suppliers. While holding suppliers accountable, also ensuring that Aspire performs well for our suppliers.
  • Drive and participate in all product development efforts that increase the supplier capabilities for our platform. Develop business cases to support supplier related product investment. Create detailed BRDs for Product Development opportunities and strategic initiatives and work with IT, Operations and Management as applicable to ensure business requirements are completely understood.
  • Build and monitor competitive benchmarking for supplier performance.



  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is required; MBA is a plus
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a leader in the travel field; existing travel industry relationships a plus
  • Experience as a planner, seller, and negotiator
  • Proven success implementing transformation initiatives in prior roles
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication and packaging skills
  • Outstanding organization and project management skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Strong ability to influence across all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to travel a minimum of 20% of the time
